Okay, so as some of you may already know, I have fantasized about going to Africa for a very long time. After reading the Alchemist and thinking about what my own personal legend might be and especially this new book Three Cups of Tea (it is sooooooo good, look for the review when I've finished). I am realizing that I need to make this dream happen, I need to just do it. Lately my attention has been drawn to Kenya, so I am looking at a few different organizations (In Our Own Quiet Way) with volunteer opportunities and I will see what I need to do and start raising the money this winter and spring so that I will be ready to go by summer.
I AM GOING TO AFRICA IN THE SUMMER OF 09!!!
That is my goal and my dream and I'm putting it out there so that I can make it a reality.

yee haw! guess what? i'm trying o get to africa this next year too. not kenya though, malawai. my sister and her husband and their two kids are there while andy works with aids babies. i've just put it out there too, and i'm crossing my fingers

I believe my Mom just read "Three cups of tea," and raved about it, too...
