This was my first year actually attending the festival of colors, I was late last year and missed it. It is officially my new look-forward-to-all-year event, my favorite holiday ever!
Next year I will purchase plenty of color IN ADVANCE because the line gets long and they run out of the best colors. It is so vibrant and amazing and it is infused with yummy flowery scents, it smells SO good!
Part of the tradition is the bonfire and burning of the baby- killing-demoness Holika. It's based on a legend.
I saw 2 girls in wedding dresses, oh my!
My favorite part was painting the children. I'd run up and splash paint on them and they'd look down at the color with a shocked look in their face then look up at me with a huge grin!
Those who were smart and prepared (and had expensive cameras) wrapped their cameras in plastic to protect them from the fine colorful dust that was all over EVERYTHING. I will definitely remember to do that next year.
