Max's First Birthday; Crawly Things

I made a dozen invitations and handed out about four :S I was being lazy and hoping everyone would just respond to my facebook invite. It kind of worked... Besides family, only 1 of my friend's with kids who RSVP'd showed up, so we had kind of a shortage of kids, so I made the "grownups" play all the games too.

I served these sandwiches with watermelon, ants on a log (apple slices, peanut butter, raisins) these and these cupcakes, "dirt" pudding, chips and drinks.

Each little bug, when they got there had to pick an antenna to wear.

This is baby spider, our craft.  A wooden bead, pipe cleaners, googley eyes, and with adult assistance hot glue and a sharpie.

Pin the bug on the frog.

Catch a fly with a sticky hand.

And last but not least was this adorable bean bag toss, doubles as a cutout that my sweet little brother Robbie made for me.

This is Miss Black Widow, the pinata I made out of crepe paper.

Pretty much every thing here is DIY, it was a lot of work, but super fun!  Besides the lack of mini guests I'm really happy with how everything turned out :)

I'll write about the awesome water slide and the Samuelson family traditional jello cake in the next post.
