So I decided to go back to nannying. I kind of feel like a sellout (kind of like Sandy Cohen from the O.C. felt when he left the D.A's office to work for a big firm,* hah!), going from working with "troubled," "underprivileged" kids to work with "privileged" kids. But it's so heartbreaking to see children suffer, I was seriously fighting depression, and this family I'm working for is really adorable. I hope to go back to foster care again someday, maybe adoption, but I need a break for now. I love my job so far and that's always a good feeling.
I'm still taking a few massage clients on the side. Massage is so much more enjoyable when you're not doing it full time (sheesh it's been a long while since I've done 4 or 5 massages a day) I do still give friends and family 1/2 off on massages by the way (that includes you, all my 3 readers if you're still out there!)
*I hope you appreciate the O.C reference Janel, that was mainly for you.

You will be an awesome Nanny. No matter what you do, you put yourself into it. Just remember, some "privileged kids" need as much help and attention as some "troubled kids."
including me? can i order a 1/2 off massage in hawaii? you can stay at my apartment... seriously though, i don't think you're a sell out. i think that it's smart to pace yourself and take care of yourself, do things you love and enjoy just for the sake of themselves along with the things that you feel you need and should do. capiche?
Chrissy I think you are amazing and you shouldn't feel one bit like a sell out. You are able to do things with kids that I would never be able to do!!!
Good for you for being soooooo AWESOME!!!
Congratulations on the new job, the famiy you are working for, is very impressed thus far!
looks to me like you have more than 3 readers and I REALLY did appreciate your OC reference. The story about your moms' old clothes is so funny.
