Open letter to smokers

***oh yes it's that time again, that occasionally witty, usually biased, open, honest time, that time when I get stuff off my chest, it's open letter time!**

Dear smokers of cigarettes,

Could you please stand on the other side of the road with the homeless guy who smells like pee and all the other smellies? This is the hygene side.

Can you read? You are going to get cancer, it says so on the box. I don't care what you're grandpa ate\smoked\drank. Can I have your Ipod when you die?

Lastly, I'm not so sure I can afford your habit anymore. It costs the state of Utah $345 million annually in health care bills to support your tobacco use. Hows about you quit and we split the profit?

Regards,
Me

This is a great post. I made a similar one on facebook when we covered smoking in school Here are some scary numbers:

20% of adults in the US are smokers. After medical expenditures and annual lost productivity costs, each pack of cigarettes costs society $7.18 - PER PACK!! In 2005 it was estimated that 50,000 people died from SECOND HAND SMOKE!! There are 437,902 deaths EACH YEAR attributed to smoking.
